POSHAAK (about the saree): Coral Peach Chikankari saree on Handloom Chanderi, with Resham Embroidery in contrasting Turquoise. The saree has carefully made stitches of Ghaspatti, Shadow & Hool stitch in a Chakkalika (handmade bamboo curtains of Lucknow) Jaal pattern. The Highlight of the saree is undoubtedly the neat Hool that form the middle of each flower on the saree, making it a rich cutwork. The saree is finished with tassles made by hand & hand sewn on the palla using Mother of Pearl buttons.

POSHAAK (about the saree):
Rajat Lakshmi is a beautiful saree we first made in 2020, and since then have made various versions of this saree on Order.
Hand embroidered painstakingly with Resham 3 Taar Chikankari, on a base of Handloom Zari x Silk, this luxurious drape has an antique border on 3 sides of the saree, along with an unconventional Peacock or Mayur motif on the palla. This divine saree has floral bootis in the body, and is finished with selvedge & gold lace detailing. It is a saree that can be worn for weddings, dining out on special occasions, festivals, ghazal or jazz evenings. These are sarees to be cherished, maintained carefully & pass down to future generations. The drape of the saree is engulfing, easy to carry, fluid and yet regal. This helps the pleats fall beautifully, and yet not make it so heavy that it becomes difficult to carry. These sarees are extremely tough to make, as it needs ambient lighting for the embroidery to be possible, therefore cherish them as very rare pieces of art. ARTISANAL CHIKANKARI BY MEIRAAS
KHAYAL (moodboard): The outskirts of the historic & charming city of Lucknow are equally beautiful in their rustic charm. These ancinet Indo Gangetic plains are lush with greenery & boasts of one of World's oldest agrarian civilisation. Watching the emerald landscape of Awadh is a surreal experience, even more so in winters when dotted with the migratory bird population, the most notable of these being the Siberian Cranes, that never enter the city Lucknow, but stay just outside, especially in Nawabgunj Bird Sanctuary. With this concept in mind, we wanted to design motifs that glide in the night sky in a Yin & Yang appeal; we found the desirable art style of these motifs, very surprisingly, in Japan. The ancient Japanese Art style is dramatically circular in design, & it is here that we found our serendipity, the right manner to display the Nawabgunj Cranes. The motif of Chikankari is an exclusive design of Meiraas launched in 2018. Borrowing from Japanese palette, we designed the motifs keeping Chikankari stitches in mind, that best romance the gliding flight of the Siberian Cranes.
POSHAAK (about the dress): The Tussar Silk blouse is crafted in a unique wrap around jacket style for better fit. The sleeves have been let lose inspired by Kimono style sleeves for ease of movement. The in seams of the blouse have both Hooks & Potli Buttons. The back will have the Statement Falaknuma Motif. The blouse is lined perfectly with soft cotton all over to ensure total comfort.
Additional Details: This Blouse can be altered uptil sizes S (small) to XXL (Extra Extra Large) only.

ARTISANAL CHIKANKARI BY MEIRAAS
KHAYAL (mood-board): Taking inspiration from celebrated Indian author, Munshi Premchand’s story, Shatranj Ke Khiladi, we created Bisaat. Celebrated Indian Filmmaker, Satyajit Ray, also made a classic adaptation of this story in 1977. Bisaat or the chessboard was the biggest conversation starter in Awadh; this past legacy has been recreated by us on Chikankari Motifs for eternity.

- Aimed at up-cycling, re-using, re-purposing absolutely beautiful craft pieces that the artisans are unable to sell for various reasons, like someone got them made on order & then did not buy or the artisan ended up making too fine a piece that they could not price well at their level & sell & is thus lying unused, or fine quality embroidery, but wrong structure of garment, hence unsold & unused. For example this dupatta was lying unsold for too long as the shop owner who gave the order did not purchase them after the artisan had toiled over them. The hand embroidery was absolutely lovely.
- Our team curates & acquires them at fair prices from the artisans. It helps them move their inventory too.
- The pieces then arrive at our office in Faridabad, where they are redesigned keeping their work aesthetic in mind & taking out maximum possible from the pieces. While designing, our aim is also to make more versatile & multipurpose pieces, so that the patron can take out the maximum from their investment.
- Once the design palette is finalised, the pieces are shipped to our Gurgaon unit for stitching with trademark Meiraas finish. Since in acquisition pieces we cannot be sure of fabric, we line them with high quality Cotton Fabric, with a unique stitching technique where the fabric outside does not touch your body, and the fabric inside is the only one that is enveloping your body. This ensures that we take care of your skin's health & yet re-use the fabric to the optimum level.
