KHAYAL (moodboard): Lucknow has its own way of naming various colours; a colloquial shade chart, if you will. No one says Pink or Hot Pink over there, but we have grown up hearing names like Roohafza Gulaabi, Gajari, Rani and Gulkandi, for various shades of Pink. As soon as someone would say Gulkandi, the mind would immediately travel to the sweetness of the indigenous condiment in Paan, or in summer shakes. There was a particular, brillinat Pink shade of Gulkandi shake, that made us name this dupatta in its memory. Luckhnavis pay more attention to the feel evoked by a colour's name, than its literal accuracy. This is why Lucknow has its own way of calling shade names, which are also mentioned by the city's historian, late Padmashree Dr Yogesh Praveen ji, in his books.
POSHAAK (about the garment): This brilliantly pink Dupatta has 2 motif play of antique miniature peacock, and jasmine flower in an interplay upon the buttery Chanderi fabric. The dupatta is locked using a ghaspatti & shadow bel on all 4 sides. It has a generous smattering of Mukaish embroidery, that makes it look even more beautiful.
The dupatta has stitches like Orma, Ghaspatti, Hool, Phanda, Murri stitch in the Peacock motif alone!! The jasmine flower has stitches like Keel, Kangan and Ghaspatti.
It is a beautiful wrap that will not be limited to be worn on Indian wear only, but can be taken on classic black coloured gowns or jumpsuits as well.

KHAYAL (moodboard):Elizabeth Bennett is the central protagonist of Pride & Prejudice (1813), a legendary classic by Jane Austen. She is one of the five lovely Bennett sisters, & is now considered amongst the greatest heroines of English Classic Literature. Elizabeth is "second only to Jane in beauty & countenance", yet her most endearing aspect is her cynicism tempered with her sweet nature. With all the traits that Jane has & keeps each separate from the other, Elizabeth's character is a beautifully aligned composition of each one of them in a neat & witty package. This is why this buttery Chanderi Dupatta has three diverse colours of Pink, Yellow & Blue in one Motif, that symbolises Elizabeth the best, & as an evolved version of Jane.
POSHAAK (about the garment): This dupatta is a grander version of Elizabeth Dupatta made by us sometime ago. The butter white Chanderi drape has a fusion of 3 unique miniature motifs, the Bijli boota in big & small size, and a miniature leaf petal boota. 3 soft pastel shades - Sky Blue, Lemon Yellow and Rose Pink, create each motif, even the most miniature one. The dupatta is closed on 4 sides with a shadow & ghasspatti bel in two colours.
The Bijli motif has 3 unique hand cutworks in one motif - Bijli, Jaali & Hathkati!! It is simply astounding how much detailing one motif can hold.
It is a beautiful wrap that will not be limited to be worn on Indian wear only, but can be taken on classic white gowns or jumpsuits as well.

KHAYAL (moodboard): Champaai is a coloquial and beautiful colour name for White, and is commonly used in Lucknow's language. Champaai is used to describe anything that is beautiful, soft & pristine white, like Champa flowers. This word has been often used to describe lovely feet of ladies or their glowing complexion, by the poets of Lucknow; on the other hand, it has also been used to describe the all White on White Chikankari attire worn by a lady of society, who further decorates herself with pearls and diamonds. Her clothes are then called "Champaai Joda" (all white ensemble). While it could be said "Safed Joda", calling it Champaai makes it even more poetic, & shows appreciation for the styling done by the lady. This was the inspiration behind this soft jewel of a dupatta.
POSHAAK (about the garment): This moon like glowing Chanderi dupatta has White Resham Chikankari allover, with a fusion of two miniature motifs, the Paatra (leaf), and Champaa flowers. A generous smattering of Mukaish daana makes the dupatta glow with a wondrous & celestial light. The dupatta is perfect to wear with an all white attire or any colour attire. This is one shade & look that will be a classic hand me down, and one where you cannot go wrong.

Antique Masterclass Jaali Chikankari Hand Embroidery Dupatta in Paan Motif on handwoven Organza with Ganga Jamuna borders of Tested Zari Gold & Silver on either side.
The Sustainability Quotient (TSQ):
Jaali stitch in one the largest surface areas - the outer circumference of Paan motif
The highly skilled Murri (Biryani Chawal) stitch outside the Jaali border.
One of a kind conceptual art work - Paan (betel leaf) and Aam (paisley) motifs together - both signature icons of Lucknow & Chikankari
Shahi Paan motif commissioned and re created by Meiraas using archived ancient work.
Masterclass Jaali stitch work using Zari filament, which is extremely difficult to do.
Sustaining highest quality of Jaali stitch as centrepiece, which is almost vanishing from the craft or getting replaced with sequins and cutdana.
Handwoven Pure Organza Silk with tested Zari borders of Gold & Silver, making it a Hand embroidered and Hand Woven wholesome piece of wearable art.
KHAYAL (moodboard): If Chikankari embroidery is Poetry on Textile, then Jaali stitch is its Evocative Drama!! Jaali is an exceptionally brilliant optical illusion created on fabric by the hands of the karigars, where they replicate the trellis pattern of windows. Windows through which the first rays of sunshine sieve and enter a dark room, and spread their warmth in an alluring pattern. Windows through which the silver glow of a full Moon, enters in a cosmic colour play of calmness. Jaali has more spiritual connect with the artisans than we can think; maybe this is what makes the stitch the high point of Chikankari art.
POSHAAK (about the garment): This is one of a kind Conceptual work. Paan Gilauri & Aam ki Kairi are two iconographic motifs of Lucknow & its heritage craft, Chikankari. We used our Shahi Paan motif and filled it inside with small Kairi paisley motifs. The outside border of the Paan has stunning Jaali work one such a large surface, a one of a kind piece of art visible no where. The border is further decorated with extremely tough Murri stitch. This is a masterpiece amethyst colour Dupatta. The Paan motif is one 2 corners of the dupatta diagonally. Rest of the dupatta has Keel Kangan booti allover.

KHAYAL (moodboard): Marble Carvings of Ancient Marble Monuments is a dream that has been captured in Chikankari Embroidery. Organza provides the exact dream like base for this Khayal. The Resham Chikan Embroidery appears like a replica of ancient marble engravings on fabric.
POSHAAK (about the outfit): A Handwoven Organza Wrap (Dupatta) that is lighter than air, made of Pure Silk Yarns, floaty like a cloud, adorned on either side with Gold & Silver Pure Zari Borders. Delicate Flowers of Chikankari Embroidery come alive on the it, making it a heart stopping piece of wearable art.
Rare Hand Embroidery: We have focussed on finding rare & very old motifs belonging to actual Regency Era that were used in Chikankari back then. This is one of those miniature old motifs that otherwise is never visible in Chikankari. When wearing this motif you are wearing a piece of History. Please see our founder's IGTV "The Building Blocks" for more details.
Handloom Kota Doria: A rarity in itself now. We came upon this batch with great difficulty as most of the Kota available now in market is not handwoven.
KHAYAL (moodboard): Austen's World - Set in Regency Era, Austen's World refers to the classic books written by English Author, Jane Austen. The world she creates is a lilting melody that celebrates the small happiness of the usual life. There is sunshine, English gardens, summer balls, love, heartbreak, a clever dichotomy of aspiring middle class English society & the upscale Aristocracy reaching out for a humble approach to life. Pink & Yellow floral motif on soft white gossamer Kota fabric symbolises Austen's sunshine World.
POSHAAK (about the dupatta): White Handloom Kota Dupatta embroidered with a 250 plus year old motif in our workshop that did not look inspired by any local flora icon that is commonly used. The two tone embroidery is done in Powder Pink & Butter Yellow.
Imp: Colours may vary a bit, although they are all shot professionally in studio set up & closest colour has been photographed; Any variation can be due to digital medium of photography that is outside our control.
