KHAYAAL (Mood-board):
The Khayal or Aatmamanthan behind keeping this collection under the name Dhanlakshmi was very clear. We wanted to make a repository of Heirloom Sarees, where we can create colours and palettes that signify the opulence of Sri Lakshmi.
Padma Toran, or the Garland of Lotus, is a devotion to Sri Lakshmi.
This stunning piece of Wearable Art, that carries with it the finest fragrance of Awadhi couture, has a detailed border of Lotus and its buds running all through the length and width of the saree border. Dancing Peacocks are perched on the palla of the saree, all in obeisance to the Maha Lakshmi.
Asymmetrical galaxy and star patterns fill the saree, and its regal and subtly rich colour is an ode to the deity herself.
Padma Toran is for the Lakshmi within you. It is a piece de resistance, and one that creates new Heirlooms and Textile Traditions.
POSHAAK (About the garment):
Padma Toran is a saree meant to cherish and pass on for its sheer body of artistry, both with its unique concept and painstaking melange of three Heritage hand embroideries of Awadh - Resham Chikankari, Qasab Taar Aari and Zardozi, that have come together on this poetry of a saree.
The Padma Toran or Lotus border is hand embroidered first with Resham Chikankari in soft golden cream hue on Old Rose base.
Each Lotus is hand cut with Qasab Taar Jaali in Gold. Along with this, each Lotus bud is highlighted with Qasab Taar ghaspatti stitch in Silver, making the saree a Sona Rupa (Silver Gold), rarest of rare combination in Chikankari embroidery.
The grand Dancing Peacocks on the Palla are also highlighted with Murri stitch in Silver Qasab Taar.
After Chikankari artisans, the saree travelled to the Zardozi artisans, where an Ustaad first hand embroidered each motif painstakingly with Gold Qasab Taar in Aari hand embroidery, with minutest attention to detail.
After this level of embroidery was completed, the saree was embellished with a lot of precision in Zardozi hand embroidery, with Cutdaana, Pearls, micro sequins, rainbow beads of very premium quality. Each of these embellishments is micro in vision, but glows with a brilliant sheen under lights.
The Old Rose hue of the Tissue Georgette saree adds to the regal drama of this scalloped beauty.
Padma Toran is meant for those connoisseurs who wish to create their own Heirlooms to wear and hand down as their legacy!
Words will fall short in the praise of this exquisite beauty of a saree!! Some of these motifs are centuries old, and some freshly carved looking at centuries old motifs. A rare piece of Art.
P.S.: Avoid moisture seeping into such sarees. Always store them in a dry place and in the Meiraas bag we deliver them in. Keep opening Silk Sarees in every 6 months and changing its folds.

KHAYAL (moodboard): A Summer Place is an ode to those vintage, glamorous, and yet, effortless drapes, that were an instant mood lifters for any occasion. It is a mood board driven by glowing summer evenings, with clear blue skies and crisp sunshine, and a long drive for an intimate evening by a Riviera. The colour of the saree is inspired by freshly blooming summer roses that light up any place with their beauty and fragrance.
POSHAAK (about the saree): Hand Embroidered meticulously on luscious Pure Silk Chiffon, this Rose coloured Pink Ombre dyed Mukaish saree is made with Daana Mukaish, scattered all through the floaty fabric.
The beautiful golden border of the saree is done with a seven line motif, featuring Daana & Teeki mukaish. This gives the Chiffon saree a much needed oomph!
For our Mukaish sarees, we mostly prefer Daana Mukaish, for its subtle, regal charm and comfort for the wearer for a longer period of time.

Swarna Mayur or the Golden Peacock saree is an ode to the regal splendour of our heritage, where peacocks are a ubiquitous motif of divinity & beauty. Pecocks perched & Peacock pair are few of the many motifs of Art that surround this royal iconography.
Swarna Mayur has been crafted with this thought in mind. It is a piece de resistance, and one that creates new Heirlooms and Textile Traditions.
POSHAAK (About the garment):
Three Heritage hand embroideries of Awadh - Resham Chikankari, Qasab Taar Aari and Zardozi, come together on this poetry of a saree, Swarna Mayur.
The handspun, handwoven Mulberry Silk saree, is embroidered with two unique Peacock motifs, i.e., Chaand Mayur (the perched Peacock) and Mayur Joda (the miniature Peacock pair). The saree has konia of perched peacock on the palla, while rest of the palla and body has peacock pair embroidered till 2.5 metres of the saree.
The peacock pair also runs across one side of the border (pleats), interspersed with floral motifs of Chikankari, all through.
Resham chikankari with soft almond & mocha brown shade is done on the creamy natural mulberry silk base.
Each peacock motif is highlighted with Qasab Taar Aari embroidery detailing, done very painstakingly. Thereafter, the saree is scattered with high quality micro sequins all over. Cutdana and Pearls add their lustre to this masterpiece of a saree!
The blouse fabric is running with floral Chikankari embroidery, along with sequins detailing.
This is the saree that captures the essence for those who wish to create their own Heirlooms to wear and hand down as their legacy!
Words will fall short in the praise of this exquisite beauty of a saree!! Some of these motifs are centuries old, and some freshly carved looking at centuries old motifs. A rare piece of Art.

Nakshatra Black Pure Organza Kaamdaani saree of Meiraas Exclusive work , The Golden Trellis with Circle Diskette & Chaand motif!! A stunning saree that celebrates forces of the Universe.
THE SUSTAINABILITY QUOTIENT (TSQ):
- Revival of Trellis work in Kamdaani Embroidery : A rarity, Golden Trellis, has been elusive in the repertoire of Kamdaani embroidery for over many centuries. This work of Satkhaani jaali is now done by handful of artisans only for very select collectors of heritage crafts.
- Pure Organza Silk
KHAYAAL (moodboard):"Summers in 1980s Lucknow meant, the whole family sleeping on the terrace at night. While one reason could be that power cuts were frequent then, another reason was its charm of sleeping under the open sky. Nani's house was a treat for me in this respect, whenever we stayed there. We would sleep under the stars, all cousins and elders around on their own charpais. Papa would take this as a moment to show me stars, planets, moon, the Milky Way, etc etc. It was fascinating & I deeply miss those innocent times. Nakshatra is a product of that reverie. Designing Nakshatra was always a dream, ever since I started working with Mukaish craft. The stars of Mukaish say so much to me than just metallic embellishments. They remind me of shooting stars, sun shining on dewdrops, planets, forces that are beyond our comprehension, and we can only see them as glittering dots, because we are limited in our scope to understand energies. This was the thought with which I explored Nakshatra. The Golden Trellis was the perfect embroidery to try this design intervention. I conceptualised a Celestial Trinity of the Sun, the Moon and the Planet to denote the Nakshatra and set it on a bed of stars in the sky in the form of this beautiful Organza Saree.I wish the patron wears it in an enchanting dinner place, under open clear sky, with millions of stars, a glass of wine and good company at hand and have a soulful time to remember & cherish forever." - Vidhi, Head of Creative, Meiraas
POSHAAK (about the saree):
This dark black sky of a soft cloudy Organza Saree has the Constellation in the form of - the Sun, the Moon & the Planet in Golden Trellish Kaamdaani embroidery. These motifs are heavily on the palla only, and the rest of the body has stars of Mukaish scattered all over its vast dark expanse.
We have finished it with Mulberry Silk selvedge in same colour.
The saree has a Mulberry Silk Blouse Piece in running with stars of Muakish.
Storage: Please store safely in the cloth bag we provide. Air it after every few months.

Hand Picked Ancient Archived Motifs.
Conceptual and Exclusive Chikankari Artwork on Zari Silk fabric.
Handloom Zari Silk fabric.
Museum quality Chikankari sarees that can be handed down generation to generation as a treasure.
After our series of metallic sarees of Swarna Lakshmi (Gold), Rajat Lakshmi (Silver), Krishna Lakshmi (Black Gold), we are now introducing, TaamraLakshmi, signifying the 3rd most important metal in our culture, Copper. The celebration of metal names is deeply spiritual, in accordance to the deity they are ascribed to, i.e., Sri Lakshmi.
We wish the radiance of Sri Lakshmi, who visits deserving households during Deepawali, to bring them prosperity and wholesome progress.
TaamraLakshami is a stunning Red Gold Zari Silk Chikankari saree, with Red Resham embroidery, a piece de resistance, and one that creates new Heirlooms and Textile Traditions.
POSHAAK (About the garmemt):
The stunning TaamraLakshami, is embroidered with extremely delicate and prized stitches of Conceptual Chikankari Art work.
The palla features a combination of two antique miniature floral motifs. Along with that a delicate and detailed circular floral motif is placed along the length of the palla and has stunning embroidery of Zari Taar Jaali (extremely difficult to do on this fabric), murri, keel, ghaaspatti, phanda, zanjeera, rahet etc.
It is extremely difficult to work on full Zari Silk sarees, because of many reasons:
The saree reflects light back, making it impossible to work in full light, hence it needs perfect light setting in a room and extremely skilled artisans to make it.
Such fabric requires enormous dexterity and a very fine level of craftsmanship, therefore the number of artisans working on it are just 1-2 only. This means it takes more time than other sarees
Zari Taar Jaali work is extremely difficult to do on this saree; Cutting jaali by hand is a difficult and time consuming process as it is (this is why its artisans are reducing, as they demand better wages for the time and skill, which popular market is unwilling to pay). Cutting a jaali using Zari Taar filament is the toughest level, as the Zari Taar is not visible to the naked eye easily. In this case Zari Taar has been used to cut Jaali on full Zari Silk saree, making it the toughest level. This obviously commands time and best wages for the artisans involved.
Words will fall short in the praise of this exquisite beauty of a saree!! Some of these motifs are centuries old, and some freshly carved looking at centuries old motifs. A rare piece of Art.
The unique Red Gold colour of the saree with Red embroidery makes it stunning, regal and a timeless heirloom that you would like to pass on generation after generation.
The drape of this saree is breathtaking; rich and very form fitting and supple, making it ideal for all body types.
We will also provide a 1 metre running Chikankari embroidered Tussar Silk blouse piece in Red colour as part of the saree.
P.S: If you are noticing dark patches anywhere in the pictures, then that is the Zari reflecting the light back to the camera, and this is not present on the saree.
Avoid moisture seeping into such sarees. Always store them in a dry place and in the Meiraas bag we deliver them in. Keep opening Silk Sarees in every 6 months and changing its folds.
The saree is 41.5 inches in width, in case you want increase in the width of the saree, please drop us a mail at [email protected] . We will add a coloured fabric seamlessly on the tucking in area to give you your desired width.

POSHAAK (about the saree):
This bright Yellow luminous expanse of handwoven Chanderi saree is embroidered with some of the most antique motifs; some old, some recreated based on archived old motifs.
The saree palla has very antique bel boota on palla & border, made with fine and prized Murri stitch, a rare work of art.
It further has a Grand Paisley Guldaan Boota with finest of Murri & Ghaspatti embroidery. Amongst the revered and rare Chikankari stitches, Murri takes precedence as it is very painstaking to create. It has to mimic a Biryani Chawal like fineness and beauty, which is extremely difficult to achieve, especially so in Resham thread.
The small floral booti in the palla & body of this saree is 200 plus years old. It is a Murri ki Kairi, a miniature fine art motif, that is made almost completely with fine Murri, making this saree an outstanding piece of Murri artwork
The saree is lit up with diyas of Mukaish embroidery placed beautifully amidst the fine thread art.

Artisan Skill Enhancement: The artisan unit that has embroidered this Chikankri Saree had never worked on a saree before or done skilled stitch work. They had never even worked on any pure fabric & only did "shadow" "phanda" stitches for fast moving Chikan goods. Such nuanced work enhanced their skill and gives them better chance of earning more.
Slow Layout of Embroidery: The embroidery layout is in typical style of an Heirloom saree with more designs and even Shadow work. This breaks away from the allover simple Tepchi embroidery that is the norm of fast moving Chikan work.
Non Motorised Amber Charkha Spun Fabric yarn.
Handwoven high count Cotton Saree
Azo Free filtered dyeing
Khayal (moodboard): Rajnigandha collection is inspired by Everyday Effortless charm of saree draping from 1970s-80s, when the ladies of our homes used to drape sarees for everyday chores, & not just for occasions. There was a certain careless abandon in this style, that made the drapes very relatable and one with the wearer, which is an emotion missing now from saree draping. Since the collection finds its muse in 1970s middle cinema heroines, like Vidya Sinha, the names are kept reminiscent of the romance of those ages!! Petrichor is the fragrance of Monsoon very dear to lovers of Slow Living, that is evocative of the simple yet soulful era!!
Poshaak (about the saree):
Beautiful & rare Peacock Motif along with a stunning floral shadow motif and Lotus creepers come together to celebrate this beautiful Chikankari saree. To create this one of a kind Tepchi with Shadow embroidery layout, we re-imagined this saree in the style of design layout that is usually reserved for pure georgette Chikankari sarees; only, we gave this a twist suited best for good quality Tepchi embroidery. Instead of an allover same embroidery pattern, that is normal with Tepchi, we broke the palla layout into interesting panels to include more nuanced motifs & even included a Shadow stitch motif. This makes the layout of the saree unique, and allows the artisans to enhance their skill in Tepchi embroidery. Please remember, that only constant practise and challenges makes crafts perfect.
We absolutely love Tepchi Chikankari. The delicate Tepchi is quite literally Summer embroidered on your saree.
However, off late the Tepchi we have started getting in markets is a travesty. You will be lucky to find a really good quality Tepchi for office or casual wear. We have worked very hard on this saree to create a fantastic Tepchi & some shadow work masterpiece, along with Handwoven fabric!! This is a true collector's delight.
The unconventional dark Old Rose (Brown with very faint hints of Pink) hue is stunning, all season fresh & outstanding , making it a perfect & must have Chikankari wear.
Creating a Chikankari saree on Handspun Handwoven Cotton weave was always our dream. We have been successful in finding the perfect sustainable drape for our delicately embroidered sarees.
It is a perfect light office/lunch/brunch/casual wear saree, yet one that will make heads turn. The drape is perfect for any weather.
IMP: Please Note, this is a Khadi Cotton saree, which is dyed after the embroidery. There will be non uniformity in colour gradation. This is the charm of Khadi and its differentiating factor.
Styling Tip: Wear with Rajnigandha Crop Top

Kamal Sarovar Grande is a customised saree of the original Kamal Sarovar saree we had made in 2020 that can be seen here
The creation of this saree was magnificent. Kamal Sarovar was born out of a dream to create a river full of blooming lotuses. Only a complete jaal saree could do proper justice to the thought. We wanted the base of the saree to have a soft pearly glow to represent a water body glistening in the morning sunlight, when the Lotuses have started blooming for the day. Our handwoven Chanderi fabric was the best option. A contrast pastel colour is used to create blossoming Lotuses all through the saree.
This saree is a work of wearable art & a visually aesthetic masterpiece!!
POSHAAK (about the saree): The expanse of Grey Chanderi Handloom saree plays with delicate Pink Kamal Sarovar embroidery in Resham Chikankari, all over the body. Each flower & leaf in the embroidery comes alive with glistening Mukaish stars that add mystical allure to this beautiful combination. The saree is finished with handmade Pure Silk selvage in the reverse side in the colour of embroidery, & trimmed with Crochet lace detailing in the colour of the embroidery.

Pink Green Maheshwari Saree with Woven Border details and Chikankari Embroidery done in Resham Taar. The Paisley Motif used here is almost 200 plus years old. A rich slice of history.
KHAYAL (moodboard): A Tale of two Dynasties
Maheshwar & Awadh come together to tell each other the stories of their glorious past & their surviving present!! The Maheshwari Sarees are woven taking inspiration from the city of Maheshwar and Narmada River. Each border & palla motifs are woven as an homage to this historic city!! Hoe beautiful would it be if Awadh also came on board to tell its stories by motifs inspired by its own essence. The Khayal is a marriage of two beautiful ideologies & their rich crafts.
POSHAAK (about the saree):
A beautiful woven Resham Border inspired by Maheshwar Fort adorns this cheerful Pink & Green beauty on which we have got Paisley Chikankari Motif embroidered that is 200 plus years old!! The embroidery is statement like with two motifs on either side of Palla width & then small floral motifs on the Palla. These small motifs get sparse as we enter the body of the saree. This ensures that either Art is not engulfing the other & both stand out symbiotically.
Imp:

KHAYAAL (moodboard):"The city lies on a plain, encircled by brown desert hills, with fortifications and walls snaking over their contours. The capital itself was the prettiest I had ever seen - an intricacy of domes & towers, lattices and verandahs, with all the buildings coloured a deep Oleander Pink. In the wide well planned streets, the women wore skirts, bodices and shawls instead of sarees, and all the men wore gloriously coloured turbans - Red, Magenta, Daffodil Yellow and an indescribable Pink, that was both pale & piercing." - Excerpt from A Princess Remembers . The Memoirs of the Maharani of Jaipur, by Gayatri Devi
The above reference is to Jaipur's own Pink, that is akin to the flower of Kaner. India has so many unique colours, that it can make its own shade chart & inspire a variety of embroideries & art. This was the thought that shaped the Jaipur Pink saree, with lattices embroidered in Jaali Mukaish to pay our homage to the breathtakingly gorgeous city of the Rajputs.
POSHAAK (about the saree):
Jaipur Pink saree is an ode to Maharani Gayatri Devi's observation of Jaipur City. This soft cloud like Organza Saree is dyed a soft pink to resemble the Jaipur Pink. The saree has Chikankari detailing in the border. Its body has breath taking Kaamdaani embroidery work of Golden Trellis circles, that is heavier on the palla and grows smaller and lighter in the rest of the body.
The whole saree is sprinkled with Mukaish daana to add to its regal beauty. We have finished it with Mulberry Silk selvedge in same colour.
The saree has a running blouse piece with Mukaish daana embroidery.

KHAYAAL (moodboard):
Amer
The Rajasthani Floral art of Amer motif has mesmerised us, since we first laid eyes on it, during our travel in 2010. It is simple, yet an attractive motif of a flower vase encased inside an aala. The original motif is made using molten glass as paint. We always wanted to showcase this motif in a Muakish saree in exactly the manner of the original artwork in Amer Fort.
The Golden Trellis motif is designed after the round Trellis water reserve covers designed so aesthetically in Amer Fort!! It was a sheer delight to see the level of Indian Art & Aesthetic sense to even design an otherwise drab water reserve tops with such skill.
This saree is reminiscent of the Maharanis of India & their Royal Splendour. The dainty Organza or Chiffon sarees, the delicate Mukaish embroidery on them, the vintage Basra pearls around their slender necks and their regal style!! One of our most beautiful memories of a past gone by.
POSHAAK (about the saree):
Clouds of White Organza are held down with the glamour of Gold!!
Amer Mukaish or Kaamdaani Saree has Meiraas Exclusive motif of a flower vase encased inside an aala, as seen in Amer Fort. The saree has this grand and exclusive motif on the Palla. The Rest of this showstopper concept saree has dainty Mukaish daana all over.
In between these Mukaish daana however lies the real beauty - The circular Golden Trellis or round diskettes made in rarest of rare - Kamdaani Jaali Embroidery!! A one of a kind rarity!!
Imp: While the saree images here show scalloping on the palla, we will instead finish the saree with white silk selvedge only.

Yakshi Nadi - The River Goddess
Yakshi is the Goddess of Love, Passion, Nurturing, Power. Yakshi is the Goddess of Feminine Power. Yakshi Nadi (yellow) is our ode to the River Goddesses, whom we consider as our Mothers since the start of time. River is much more than a water body for us, She is a celestial mother who takes care of us. Yakshi Nadi shows the amalgamation of flora & fauna that are life supported by the power of our River Goddesses. The photograph with the model holding the water vessel is a throwback to Mother Ganga and Mother Yamuna sculptures in ancient temples holding water vessels (signifying their contribution to nurture life).
Yakshi is a celestial nymph mentioned in Ancient Puranic texts and epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat. The khayal to name this collection, Yakshi came with the Temple Art of India, like Khajuraho group of temples; the celestial nymphs are set in stone in the most beautiful expressions in these temples. They have been made with such devotion and aesthetics that one can imagine them coming to life at night, and reliving the days of past glory!!
Linen as a fabric was extensively worn in almost all Ancient Civilisations. In fact some sources suggest the possibility of white on white embroidery being worn in Chandragupta Maurya's court; some ancient texts also talk of the legendary Maharaja Harshvardhan of Kashmir, only wearing White on White embroidered fabric.
POSHAAK (about the saree):
Nadi saree has the Meiraas exclusive Kabootarbaazi motif running on the palla; signifying life of flora and fauna due to the nurturing nectar that is provided by our rivers. The border is a stunning floral bel running through the saree, and the body has small floral bootis scattered all over.
Styling Tip: Like most Meiraas creations, this saree can be dressed up & down for multiple occasions, whether work wear or party wear. It has its own charm in both situations.
Please Note: Slight wrinkles are part of Pure Linen texture. Linen is the most low maintenance fabric. Ideally before draping this saree, take it out and spread it and hang somewhere at least a day before; its wrinkles will smoothen significantly. Mostly it should be worn with slight wrinkles, yet if you wish to iron the dhobi press will be fine, with a cloth on top.
The first design of our signature Falaknuma motif are these sarees. Showcased in some premium shows like Red Earth Saree Festival, Dastkar, Sanatkada, Ficci Flo & SAARC event, this saree was the game changer in bringing back stories & concepts in Chikankari Craft as an ode to Lucknow. After the debut of this concept, designers in Chikankari started exploring motifs beyond floral art. The saree was first videographed on Isha Priya Singh (@desidrapes on IG) in June, 2018 at the gorgeous Lebua, Lucknow. Isha ji participated in the video purely as a goodwill gesture.
THE SUSTAINABILITY QUOTIENT (TSQ):
HANDLOOM CHANDERI WITH DIFFERENT COMPOSITION IN THE LOOM - this composition & style of weaving has made this Chanderi weave gossamer in feel & absolutely fantastic, unlike the Chanderi that is generally woven. It is our specialized weave. Let us call this FALAKNUMA CHANDERI by MEIRAAS.
UNIQUE WEAVE COMMISSIONED BY MEIRAAS - explained above
UNIQUE MEIRAAS BLOCKS - Art created from scratch. Motif Blocks drawn & chiseled by hand in ancient style. This gives more challenging & creative work to Block Artisans, who were being eliminated by many designers in favour of digital tracing.
RESHAM CHIKANKARI (HAND EMBROIDERY PRACTISED SINCE ANCIENT AGE)
Khayal (moodboard):
NAWABI SHAUK - The Slow Hobbies of Nawab Royalty
Kite Flying & Rooster Matches were some of the prominent hobbies of Nawabi Royalty. Kite Flying is also a beautiful ritual that celebrated the different faiths presiding in one city of Lucknow, thus a harmonious & binding activity.
Celebrated Indian Filmmaker, Satyajit Ray, in his 1977 classic "Shatranj Ke Khiladi", romanced the By-lanes of Lucknow & these slow civil rituals.
POSHAAK (about the dress):
This 3 D art saree is feather light & has a powder blue base with gold pure tested zari detailing on either side of the width of the saree. The embroidery is done using 2-3 colours; in this the fighting roosters were the toughest to create. The artwork had to look realistic, yet something that could be created successfully in Chikankari. The colours used to make the Roosters are the actual colours of "desi murga" or indigenous roosters of India. Multiple brainstorming sessions with artisans made this art of Rooster Fighting & Kite Flying come alive on the saree.
The moment of reckoning was when the son of the lead artisan, who was indifferent to the craft, beamed on seeing the saree.
The embroidery is till the end of the saree.
Styling Tip: This is a saree you treasure & hand down generation to generation. Wear it for day wedding functions, small intimate gatherings, in office, or when you want to dress up & listen to old vintage songs!! The possibilities are endless with a classic.
