This ensemble is Made on Order.
A museum quality ensemble created in the atelier of Meiraas, with Dorukha (double sided) dupatta of Resham Chikankari & Resham Aari embroidery, along with a stunning kurta featuring heritage Kairi motifs!
The Sustainability Quotient (TSQ):
1. Skilled Resham Hand Embroidery on heritage motif art.
2. Meiraas hand carved motifs carved following all processes.
3. Dorukha (double sided) dupatta, a novel concept in Chikankari, and an Heirloom in making!
4. Conceptual Chikankari work, that might someday be housed in a museum of crafts, or a well researched coffee table book.
KHAYAL (mood-board):
The wholesome silence of a Mango Orchard with dappled sunlight, playing through the boughs of the mango tree, even as purwaai (gentle easterly summer breeze), wafts in and fills the senses with an unknown peace and calm.
Kairi Bagh draws its inspiration from a Mango Orchard, and its Dorukha dupatta, a first in Chikankari, features Chikankari & Aari heritage crafts to complete the heirloom ensemble.
Nature inspires our artwork at every step!!
POSHAAK (about the dress):
Kairi Bagh kurta is crafted on Tissue Georgette fabric, in a beautiful green colour to symbolise Mango foliage. The kurta features stunning heirloom Kairi motifs, that are over a century old. Delicate stitches of shadow, ghaspatti, murri, phanda etc come together to create this beauty. The Resham Chikankari embroidery is completely outlined with Gold qasab Taar Aari embroidery, that symbolise the gold rays of sun dappling through the mango trees.
The highlight of this beautiful heirloom ensemble, is the Dorukha dupatta; a novel concept explored by us in the craft form.
The double layered dupatta has extensive shadow work of Resham Chikankari on the Green side, and later it was completely outlined with qasab taar Aari embroidery, that gives the mirror reflection of the work on the reverse Gold side, making with a perfect Dorukha dupatta, that can be taken from any end.
Scalloping detail on the Dupatta makes the leaves come out, like hanging leaves of a Mango tree; the chef’s kiss on the ensemble.
The Green and Gold hues have been picked to tie the concept of Kairi Bagh or Mango Orchard with Green trees and fruit and Golden sunshine. An Heirloom in the making!
P.S : We will also provide a pair of plain stitched pants to complete the look, in a fabric that compliments the ensemble.
