Meiraas Bestseller Chikankari design since its first launch in 2018, the Power of Silence, Dance of the Cranes motif has been one of our most requested motifs. This is a Chikankari Kurta made on Handloom Chanderi with White on White embroidery, making it a classic & ethereal choice for all occasions.

KHAYAL (mood-board):
The outskirts of the historic & charming city of Lucknow are equally beautiful in their rustic charm. These ancient Indo Gangetic plains are lush with greenery & boasts of one of World's oldest agrarian civilisation. Watching the emerald landscape of Awadh is a surreal experience, even more so in winters when dotted with the migratory bird population, the most notable of these being the Siberian Cranes, that never enter the city Lucknow, but stay just outside, especially in Nawabgunj Bird Sanctuary. With this concept in mind, we wanted to design motifs that glide in the night sky in a Yin & Yang appeal; we found the desirable art style of these motifs, very surprisingly, in Japan. The ancient Japanese Art style is dramatically circular in design, & it is here that we found our serendipity, the right manner to display the Nawabgunj Cranes. The motif of Chikankari is an exclusive design of Meiraas launched in 2018. Borrowing from Japanese palette, we designed the motifs keeping Chikankari stitches in mind, that best romance the gliding flight of the Siberian Cranes.
POSHAAK (about the dress):
The cranes are falling, gliding, flying & finally in a circular Dance of Love at the statement back, in this Meiraas Exclusive Kurta made on Handloom Chanderi. The lace detailing on the neckline adds charm & romance to the ethereal Kurta. The White of the Kurta with its butter Pure Chanderi base is perfect to create the right drama, and yet have a classic appeal.

KHAYAL (mood-board):
The city of Lucknow, & its popular cultural iconography is defined by two leitmotifs; one of them is the mysterious and glorious architecture of Rumi Darwaza, that finds no parallel from any gateway in the World. The second is the interesting story of the Taj or the Crown of Lucknow, that caused a political turmoil in the Awadh Riyasat, back in the days.
We wanted to create a historical piece of wearable art that capture both these iconographies in one neat creation, & the result was the moodboard of Rumi Taj kurta.
POSHAAK (about the dress):
This almond hued Kurta has the glorious Rumi Darwaza motif (a Meiraas Exclusive) on the back of the kurta. The front has the antique Taj miniature motif scattered on the front & sleeves. The neckline has the stunning & very complex Hathkati & Murri (rice grain) neckline. The whole kurta is made with very rare stitches like Murri, Hathkati, Orma, Hool, Bijli, Shadow, Zari Taar Jaali, Ghaspatti. It is a stunning kurta that is a wearable piece of art.

Noir is desire, Noir is decadence, Noir is dark, Noir is a mood. Chikankari Noir is a moodboard introduced by Meiraas as a reversal of the classic White on White Chikankari. The Noir version is the Black Swan to the classic White Swan Chikankari. It is rarer, deeper and goes to darker depths of mystery.
Noir was first introduced as a concept on Silks (Tussar & Chanderi), and now it is has its equally stunning Pure Linen version with exemplary antique 2 taar embroidery done on antique motifs with masterclass detailing.
POSHAAK (about the dress):
The front of the kurta has a rich antique neckline with embossing stitches of Chikankari like ghaspatti, murri, keel, phanda, that helps the dark embroidery stand out. The back has a stunning antique motif of a psychedelic flower arrangement, that gets its dark version in rare stitches of embossing & hand cut work like hathkati with gold Zari Taar.
It is one incredible masterpiece & will be the most preferred wear for almost any occasion, by simple dressing up & down of accessories.
