KHYAAL (moodboard):
The idea to make a Jewel toned rare Chikankari saree came to me, as I remembered the rare sarees that used to be part of my mummy's & mausi's wardrobe. Often in a multitude of collection that they had, I occasionally used to spot this one rare gem that stood apart due to its distinct moodboard & yet looked cohesively part of the same craft palette. Those sarees would be worn by me and later by my sisters in our annual school functions as much admired and revered pieces. Back then, I would often wonder who created this one of a kind rare piece that stood out from the rest. Little did I know, that these memories would became a part of my design moodboard much later in life - Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Creative, Meiraas
POSHAAK (about the saree):
A lovely Plum and Sea Green Batik Print saree on Handwoven Chanderi fabric. I loved this one instantly & wanted to pick it up to add Chikankari and create a one of a kind craft fusion piece. The saree is Old World, delightful and easy to dress up & down depending upon the occasion. The motif of Chikankari used is very old and resembles a rather ornate snowflake. This could be a motif inspired by the British era rule & possibly was used to make various embroidered clothes during Christmas. Important: The last image is plain running blouse piece.NO RETURN/EXCHANGE REQUEST WILL BE ENTERTAINED IF YOU REQUEST FOR FALL STITCH.
