KHAYAL (moodboard): Since the day I laid my eyes upon this Chaand Jaali motif, I have been a fan of it. How beautifully conceived this art is?!! I have used it in sarees, and even got a version done for Zardozi dupatta. I now wanted to created Chaand motif bel, a heritage antique one, on more functional everyday elegant luxury pieces. The crescent has to have a special charm for humanity for each faith to revere it so deeply, isn't it? - Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Creative, Meiraas
POSHAAK (about the dress): Soft Icy Blue colour kurta designed very lovingly by us with Antique Chaand bel. The neck has a heritage Chaand bel that has been embroidered using sunehri kasab taar ki jaali stitch. Very rare piece of work!!
Same is with sleeves.
The back has a lovely heritage motif of bigger Crescent moon in Teen Chaand format. Rest of the kurta is plain so that both self pattern fabric & Chikankari are laid our neatly on the kurta.
The Chikankari is Resham and will be 3 taar.
This kurta fabric is a good way to wear heritage motifs in classical Awadhi style, and most importantly for everyday wear, not just occasion wear.
