KHAYAL (mood-board): “The creation of this blouse is attributed to a patron, who once during a discussion suggested a Silk Blouse with gossamer puffed sleeves of the yesteryears; a kind of blouse that we do not see anymore – vintage, regal & yet sensual with an understated elegance, only possible in bygone era. I went to the design board and visualised only & only one image – Vivien Leigh in that scene in Gone With The Wind, where she enters the party thrown by Melanie Wilkes, with everyone judging her, & yet she towers in with her head held high with elegance, the mystery in her air deepening. I immediately knew the colour had to be Deep Cherry Red; a tribute to her iconic character – Scarlett. The Nritya Mayur motif at the back replete with masterclass Siddhaul Jaali, & the deep rich cherry colour added to just the right amount of mystery, like a web. The puffed sleeves in Handwoven Organza added to the elegant deportment of Scarlett that evening, as she holds her own!!! This was it!!” – Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Design, Meiraas

POSHAAK (about the dress): The Tussar Silk blouse is crafted with a sweetheart neckline (a favourite of Scarlett O Hara), and finished with Handwoven Organza sleeves. The in seams of the blouse have both Hooks & Potli Buttons. The back will have the Statement Nritya Mayur Motif. The front has small floral motifs. The blouse is lined perfectly with soft cotton all over (except gossamer sleeves) to ensure total comfort.

Important: The colour is Deep Cherry Red. In some lights it looks like a warm fiery Cherry Red (like a typical Red Velvet Cake), in some it looks like deep Cherry Red (like an actual ripe Cherry). This is the nature of the colour & it is one of the toughest to photograph. This photo is taken in a shaded porch in natural full light. Please factor in small colour variation in different lights.
