"One of my favourite things to do when on vacation is to walk on rustly leaves that have fallen from the trees. Yellow & Orange leaves forming a soft carpet to lightly tread upon with silence all around, broken only by the mellow sighting of a singing thrush or gurgling of a water body. Kota Silk is dear to me as unlike Doria it rustles more due to Silk yarn. While the sarees are soft and light to drape, they feel distinctly different from Kota Doria. I have dressed my own Kota Silks with polki jewellery always. While i receive compliments on how easily i carry weaves that normally one does not wear to family gatherings, I smile thinking of my walk on the carpet of the freshly fallen foliage. KHAYAL (moodboard): Jane Eyre (1847) is an English Classic Novel penned by Charlotte Bronte under her pseudonym Currer Bell. Jane Eyre is an extremely moving story of an orphan who, despite the bleakness of her situation in life, aspires & hopes to find life, light & love, and eventually through her own journey finds everything she wished for. Her chance for hope is symbolised by lemon yellow embroidery (colour of hope), against the coldness of white. This dupatta is Jane Eyre. POSHAAK (about the dupatta): White Handloom Kota Dupatta embroidered with stark lemon yellow delicate Tepchi Chikankari in floral pattern. Last image is taken against a backlight.   • Rare Hand Embroidery: We have focussed on finding rare & very old motifs belonging to actual Regency Era that were used in Chikankari back then. This is one of those miniature old motifs that otherwise is never visible in Chikankari. When wearing this motif you are wearing a piece of History. Please see our founder's IGTV "The Building Blocks" for more details.

KHAYAL (moodboard): Bronte's World - Bronte's World refers to the three sisters of Classic English Literature scene - Charlotte, Emily & Anne. The three were less celebrated & underrated authors. Charlotte wrote Jane Eyre and Shirley; Emily wrote the magnetic & solo Wuthering Heights; Anne was further underrated amongst the trio & wrote Agnes Grey and the now iconic The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. While set near about three decades after Austen, Bronte sisters explored a bleaker take of English countryside. The setting is more or less same, but where Austen's World is cheerful & simple, Bronte's World is untamed, bleak & raw with hope for sunshine. Blue & Yellow embroidery thus made perfect sense to symbolise Bronte's World. POSHAAK (about the dupatta): White Handloom Kota Dupatta embroidered with a 250 plus year old motif in our workshop that did not look inspired by any local flora icon that is commonly used. The two tone embroidery is done in Powder Blue & Butter Yellow. Imp: Colours may vary a bit, although they are all shot professionally in studio set up & closest colour has been photographed; Any variation can be due to digital medium of photography that is outside our control.

The world she creates is a lilting melody that celebrates the small happiness of the usual life. There is sunshine, English gardens, summer balls, love, heartbreak, a clever dichotomy of aspiring middle class English society & the upscale Aristocracy reaching out for a humble approach to life. Pink & Yellow floral motif on soft white gossamer Kota fabric symbolises Austen's sunshine World.
