- Artisan Skill Enhancement: The dresses are embroidered by our Rajnigandha unit, who were used to working on what is termed as "chaalu kaam" or fast moving Chikankari goods. They had never worked on such a skilled piece that helped them invest more creative hours & therefore earn better piece with creative satisfaction
- Paan Motif: Usage of the much less used Paan Motif in regular work also, so that this motif can be revived.
- Handloom Chanderi fabric: Making this dress a Handwoven & Handcrafted delight
Here I would also like to divulge, that at the risk of losing business, I have put my foot down on making “gowns” (whatever that means) and One Time Wears as much as I could.
For my Kalidar Dresses, I revisited some films from 1960s, where Kalidar Frocks, both Knee Length and Calf Length were worn by vintage actresses. The ease, the charm, the subtlety and the flow - I wanted that. I will especially recall Sadhana’s short one in Mere Mehboob, and Padmini’s beautiful orange one in Mera Naam Joker, in a Qawali song. Smart, easy to dress up and down, laidback and classic.

Khayal (mood-board)
"Chaap Tilak" from which we have borrowed the words Rang Deenhi is a poem by Aamir Khusrou composed in 14th Century. This poem is the few he composed in Awadhi language. Rang Deenhi (coloured me) is an Awadhi term that denotes absolute surrender in love. The love can be for a person or an energy, but the feeling is of absolute and unconditional surrender to the love. Taking inspiration, we have created original Shibori motifs from Ancient Indian Flower Art palette, a design breakthrough in Indian style of Shibori. The colour palette is kept Soft, Deep, Vibrant to symbolise shades of love.
Poshaak (About the garment)
Handwoven In House Chanderi by Meiraas, adorned with Floral Art motifs, dyed in non toxic Azo Free dyes. This is a Semi Stitched Kurta/Dress with gota bijiya lace detailing. The dress will come with a same colour cotton sleeveless lining. The lining will be made on placing the order for size confirmation, so making the lining will take 7-10 working days maximum from the day of placing the order.
P.S: Please note that while the Size Chart mentions Chikankari Top, this is a Shibori Kurta only. The size chart is our standard Tunic size chart.
