Khayal (Moodboard): Lehenga has been part of the cultural milieu of our country, since the times of Ayodhya and Sri Ram, and Kathak dance; maybe the dress even predated that era and got a grander version with the first known Kathak performance for the beloved scion of Ayodhya, after his coronation. Since that time, Lehenga, which is essentially a wide flared skirt, has seen many avatars. It is worn in beautiful, bright cottons, with tie and dye craft in many cultures, to this date. Its dressier versions include Handcrafted premium embroidered or woven varieties in jewel tones or plush rich hues, meant to stun the onlookers with its elegance, class and grace. Wedding Lehengas soon started replacing the Wedding Sarees in many places, and today have become a signature look for the Brides in India. The charm of a Lehenga skirt, Dupatta and Choli is so unbeatable, that it has its versions in almost all crafts of the country, the latest addition being Chikankari and Mukaish. Poshaak (about the dress): This is a 12 Kali (flare) Lehenga skirt only, which has very fine and beautiful work of waves made in shadow stitch and floral shadow stitch embroidery, among other stitches, alternating between each kalis. The lehenga is made in 3 taar embroidery, and is exceptionally neat and fine. Each stitch will come alive as the wearer moves in it. What differentiates an exceptionally fine lehenga from a regular variety is its attention to detail, even in its corners and borders; even the embroidery done on the length of the Kalis, adds to its overall finished look, which is crucial in any sustainable handcrafted garment. Mukaish must add to the charm, and not become a mainstay, overshadowing the Chikankari; both the crafts need to speak a symbiotic language for the whole ensemble to come alive. This skirt is finished in Free Size and has a traditional waist tie up. It is finished with a good quality Cotton lining for all day comfort, and has been given a high quality buckram in the hemline to give the skirt the required body. We wanted to make a repository of Heirloom Sarees, where we can create colours & palettes that signify the opulence of Sri Lakshmi. Krishna Lakshmi, signifies the dark night of Amavasya (Krishna Paksha), when the radiance of Sri Lakshmi, visits deserving households, to bring them prosperity and wholesome progress. KrishnaLakshami is a stunning Black Gold Zari Silk Chikankari saree, with Black Resham embroidery, a piece de resistance, and one that creates new Heirlooms and Textile Traditions. POSHAAK (about the saree): The stunning KrishnaLakshami, is embroidered with extremely delicate and prized stitches of Conceptual Chikankari Art work. The palla has a jaw dropping Rhombus motif with most delicate and intricate workmanship ever seen. It is one of a kind motif with 3 D quality artwork done by our unit artisans. Absolutely fine Zari Taar Jaali decorates this motif, which required an exceptionally high skill to make. The Zari Silk saree is embroidered in semi darkness, as it reflects back light; when this is a Black Gold hue, it becomes even more challenging, and here if we add Zari Taar for Jaali stitch, you can gauge the level of craftsmanship and artwork we are talking about. Absolutely precise trellis of Jaali cut with perfect guesstimate; this is the magic Indian artisans have in their hands. Words will fall short in the praise of this exquisite beauty of a saree!! The body has absolutely fine small flowers made with tiniest Ghaspatti stitch. The bel running on Palla & Border is an exquisite example of fine miniature workmanship of the past. Some of these motifs are centuries old, and some freshly carved looking at centuries old motifs. A rare piece of Art. The unique Black Gold colour of the saree with Black embroidery makes it stunning, regal & timeless heirloom that you would like to pass on generation after generation. Our lands are blessed with a variety of natural minerals and gemstones that have immense energy stored within them. Formed under the envelope of Bhoodevi's (Earth) womb, they radiate and reflect back her energy and lend them to the wearer. Our Chanderi sarees, adorned with heirloom quality Chikankari, are named after these soft and deeply spiritual stones. Jambumani or Amethsyt is a beautiful Lilac hued clear looking gemstone. This beautiful Lilac rich Chikankari Tussar Silk saree with antique quality embroidery, is the perfect connect to that emotion with us, that resonates with carrying forward a revered Textile Tradition. POSHAAK (about the saree): Jambumani or Amethyst saree is a lilac coloured Tussar Silk beauty, embroidered with extremely delicate and prized stitches of Conceptual Chikankari Art work. The palla has our Bijli boota motif put together like a Rangoli or Alpana. Bijli boota is our motif commissioned on an archived centuries old art work. The motif has Zari taar ki jaali amongst other prized stitches. A small Bijli boota accompanies the larger one all through the palla & body of the saree. The border & palla of the saree have an antique 100 year old plus bel boota running all through the saree, that has extremely prized Zari taar jaali & murri stitches!! A masterclass border. But the highlight of this masterpiece is the Bel Boota falling down from the shoulder; delicate and anointed with some of the rarest stitches, this boota is like the rice paste alpana we make outside our homes. The embroidery is done with darker lilac shade, making it stand out, and stars of Mukaish are embroidered lovingly with the embroidery to resemble lit diyas on Deepawali. It further has a Grand Paisley Guldaan Boota with finest of Murri & Ghaspatti embroidery. Amongst the revered and rare Chikankari stitches, Murri takes precedence as it is very painstaking to create. It has to mimic a Biryani Chawal like fineness and beauty, which is extremely difficult to achieve, especially so in Resham thread. The small floral booti in the palla & body of this saree is 200 plus years old. It is a Murri ki Kairi, a miniature fine art motif, that is made almost completely with fine Murri, making this saree an outstanding piece of Murri artwork The saree is lit up with diyas of Mukaish embroidery placed beautifully amidst the fine thread art. The saree palla has very antique bel boota on palla & border, which is centuries old and is a rarely seen design. This fine quality motif has extremely complex work in such a small surface. It further has our Shahi Paan boota, which has been commissioned by Meiraas, basis an archived rare motif. The Shahi Paan boota is on either ends of the Palla, and has our conceptual work where we have filled tiny mango or Paisley motifs inside the Paan motif. The Paisley & Paan are two iconic imageries of Lucknow & Chikankari, and we have brought both together in this conceptual work, making it one of a kind artwork to be revered forever. The small floral booti in the palla & body of this saree is 200 plus years old. It has some extremely complex stitches in this small a surface area - Zari taar ki Jaali, Hool & Murri. One of a kind masterpiece!! There is an additional keel boota that runs in the body of the saree, along with complex floral booti. Our Chanderi sarees, adorned with heirloom quality Chikankari, are named after these soft and deeply spiritual stones. Shwet Sphatik or White Rhinestone is a clear pearly looking mineral stone. This beautiful White luminous Chikankari Chanderi saree with antique quality embroidery, is the perfect connect to that emotion with us, that resonates with carrying forward a revered Textile Tradition. POSHAAK (about the saree): This white luminous expanse of handwoven Chanderi saree is embroidered with some of the most antique motifs; some old, some recreated based on archived old motifs. The saree palla has very antique bel boota on palla & border, made with fine and prized Murri stitch, a rare work of art. It further has our Shahi Paan boota, which has been commissioned by Meiraas, basis an archived rare motif. This motif is the finest work of art we have created, and is filled with the most complex stitches in Chikankari, including zari taar ki jaali. The palla is further filled with 7 petal lotus with fine ghaspatti stitch. The lotuses continue through the saree. The saree is lit up with diyas of Mukaish embroidery placed beautifully amidst the fine thread art. Saree is finished with Satin Silk selvedge and we will also provide a 1 metre approx blouse piece in same fabric.

FROM THE VAULT COLLECTIVE Mihikavan is Heirloom Chikankari 2 Taar Pure Georgette Saree in Almond Beige hue with full jaal floral embroidery. The Palla has breathtaking latticework stitch in rare & old Paisley motif. A rare Heirloom Piece!! KHAYAL (moodboard): Kamadeva (God of Desire) and Basant (Spring) decide to break the tapa of Kaamajeyi Mahadev, and get him attracted to the beauty of Parvati ji. To set this scene of romance, they paint a rugged forest, where the tapa is going on, into a place of beautiful desire, an enchanted forest garden. In an instant, Basant transforms the rugged terrain into a Floral Paradise; his painting is so beautiful that all beings are turned on to create a valley of love, the culmination of this beauty happens when a dormant tree trunk starts sprouting flowers, & a Latika or Creeper of Flowers engulfs the trunk with her grip of love!! Kalidasa ji paints so beautifully with words, almost as beautifully as our artisans create art with needle and thread. Mihikavan means Mihika (dewdrops) of Vana (Forest garden). When I see the art on this saree, I think of the first rays of sun touching the Mihika and the whole enchanted forest garden of Kumaarsambhav penned by Kalidasa ji come alive. We hope you enjoy this Khayal - Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Creative, Meiraas POSHAAK (about the saree): Mihikavan Heirloom Chikankari, made on Pure Georgette Silk (certified Silk Mark India). The saree is embroidered all over with the Palla having antique Paisley motif replete with Latticework Stitch (jaali) with qasab taar detailing. The full saree is embroidered with very inticate floral motif. Stitches like shadow, ghaspatti, orma, jaali, zanjeera, hool make this stunning saree. Mukaish stars create the much needed Mihika in this Garden created with needles and thread. The embroidery is done with 2 Taar Resham Thread and is extremely rare. Please note that the actual colour of this saree is light almond or beige. The darker colours that you see in some photographs is lighting effect. The Cover pic and 3rd last image are shot against a backlight to show you the neatness of the work. This saree will come out most beautifully on Pure Georgette only. Since this is a Made on Order saree, the patron can customise their desired shade. For this drop in an email on namaste@meiraas.com . Once the colour is selected by the patron, and we start the work, no change can be made.
This is very heavily embroidered saree, therefore mostly the length one gets in such sarees is 41-42 inches only. If you want wider saree, then an extra Pure Georgette fabric will be added on top seamlessly.

KHAYAAL (moodboard): Kamal Sarovar Grande is a customised saree of the original Kamal Sarovar saree we had made in 2020 that can be seen here The creation of this saree was magnificent. Kamal Sarovar was born out of a dream to create a river full of blooming lotuses. Only a complete jaal saree could do proper justice to the thought. We wanted the base of the saree to have a soft pearly glow to represent a water body glistening in the morning sunlight, when the Lotuses have started blooming for the day. Our handwoven Chanderi fabric was the best option. A contrast pastel colour is used to create blossoming Lotuses all through the saree. This saree is a work of wearable art & a visually aesthetic masterpiece!! POSHAAK (about the saree): The expanse of Grey Chanderi Handloom saree plays with delicate Pink Kamal Sarovar embroidery in Resham Chikankari, all over the body. Each flower & leaf in the embroidery comes alive with glistening Mukaish stars that add mystical allure to this beautiful combination. The saree is finished with handmade Pure Silk selvage in the reverse side in the colour of embroidery, & trimmed with Crochet lace detailing in the colour of the embroidery.
