POSHAAK (About the garment): Ivory Rose is a classic 2 Taar Taagha Chikankari saree with a grand Palla featuring the finest motifs of Chikankari in the most prized stitches of Hand Cut Work, like Jaali, Hool and Bijli, along with the delicate Rice Grain stitch, Murri, amongst many others. It has a beautiful border that is full of Jaali, the extremely dexterous and prized Hand Cut Work in Chikankari, which is akin to crafting a lace by hand, and Murri, creating a beautiful masterpiece border. We wanted to make a repository of Heirloom Sarees, where we can create colours and palettes that signify the opulence of Sri Lakshmi. Padma Toran, or the Garland of Lotus, is a devotion to Sri Lakshmi. This stunning piece of Wearable Art, that carries with it the finest fragrance of Awadhi couture, has a detailed border of Lotus and its buds running all through the length and width of the saree border. Dancing Peacocks are perched on the palla of the saree, all in obeisance to the Maha Lakshmi. Asymmetrical galaxy and star patterns fill the saree, and its regal and subtly rich colour is an ode to the deity herself. Padma Toran is for the Lakshmi within you. It is a piece de resistance, and one that creates new Heirlooms and Textile Traditions. POSHAAK (About the garment): Padma Toran is a saree meant to cherish and pass on for its sheer body of artistry, both with its unique concept and painstaking melange of three Heritage hand embroideries of Awadh - Resham Chikankari, Qasab Taar Aari and Zardozi, that have come together on this poetry of a saree. The Padma Toran or Lotus border is hand embroidered first with Resham Chikankari in soft golden cream hue on Old Rose base. Each Lotus is hand cut with Qasab Taar Jaali in Gold. Along with this, each Lotus bud is highlighted with Qasab Taar ghaspatti stitch in Silver, making the saree a Sona Rupa (Silver Gold), rarest of rare combination in Chikankari embroidery. The grand Dancing Peacocks on the Palla are also highlighted with Murri stitch in Silver Qasab Taar. After Chikankari artisans, the saree travelled to the Zardozi artisans, where an Ustaad first hand embroidered each motif painstakingly with Gold Qasab Taar in Aari hand embroidery, with minutest attention to detail. After this level of embroidery was completed, the saree was embellished with a lot of precision in Zardozi hand embroidery, with Cutdaana, Pearls, micro sequins, rainbow beads of very premium quality. The saree has konia of perched peacock on the palla, while rest of the palla and body has peacock pair embroidered till 2.5 metres of the saree. A stunning saree that celebrates forces of the Universe. THE SUSTAINABILITY QUOTIENT (TSQ): - Revival of Trellis work in Kamdaani Embroidery : A rarity, Golden Trellis, has been elusive in the repertoire of Kamdaani embroidery for over many centuries. This work of Satkhaani jaali is now done by handful of artisans only for very select collectors of heritage crafts. - Pure Organza Silk KHAYAAL (moodboard): "Summers in 1980s Lucknow meant, the whole family sleeping on the terrace at night. While one reason could be that power cuts were frequent then, another reason was its charm of sleeping under the open sky. Nani's house was a treat for me in this respect, whenever we stayed there. We would sleep under the stars, all cousins and elders around on their own charpais. Papa would take this as a moment to show me stars, planets, moon, the Milky Way, etc etc. It was fascinating & I deeply miss those innocent times. Nakshatra is a product of that reverie. Designing Nakshatra was always a dream, ever since I started working with Mukaish craft. The stars of Mukaish say so much to me than just metallic embellishments. They remind me of shooting stars, sun shining on dewdrops, planets, forces that are beyond our comprehension, and we can only see them as glittering dots, because we are limited in our scope to understand energies. This was the thought with which I explored Nakshatra. The Golden Trellis was the perfect embroidery to try this design intervention. I conceptualised a Celestial Trinity of the Sun, the Moon and the Planet to denote the Nakshatra and set it on a bed of stars in the sky in the form of this beautiful Organza Saree. I wish the patron wears it in an enchanting dinner place, under open clear sky, with millions of stars, a glass of wine and good company at hand and have a soulful time to remember & cherish forever." - Vidhi, Head of Creative, Meiraas POSHAAK (about the saree): This dark black sky of a soft cloudy Organza Saree has the Constellation in the form of - the Sun, the Moon & the Planet in Golden Trellish Kaamdaani embroidery. The celebration of metal names is deeply spiritual, in accordance to the deity they are ascribed to, i.e., Sri Lakshmi. We wish the radiance of Sri Lakshmi, who visits deserving households during Deepawali, to bring them prosperity and wholesome progress. TaamraLakshami is a stunning Red Gold Zari Silk Chikankari saree, with Red Resham embroidery, a piece de resistance, and one that creates new Heirlooms and Textile Traditions. POSHAAK (About the garmemt): The stunning TaamraLakshami, is embroidered with extremely delicate and prized stitches of Conceptual Chikankari Art work. The palla features a combination of two antique miniature floral motifs. Along with that a delicate and detailed circular floral motif is placed along the length of the palla and has stunning embroidery of Zari Taar Jaali (extremely difficult to do on this fabric), murri, keel, ghaaspatti, phanda, zanjeera, rahet etc. It is extremely difficult to work on full Zari Silk sarees, because of many reasons:
  1. The saree reflects light back, making it impossible to work in full light, hence it needs perfect light setting in a room and extremely skilled artisans to make it.
  2. Such fabric requires enormous dexterity and a very fine level of craftsmanship, therefore the number of artisans working on it are just 1-2 only. This means it takes more time than other sarees
  3. Zari Taar Jaali work is extremely difficult to do on this saree; Cutting jaali by hand is a difficult and time consuming process as it is (this is why its artisans are reducing, as they demand better wages for the time and skill, which popular market is unwilling to pay). Cutting a jaali using Zari Taar filament is the toughest level, as the Zari Taar is not visible to the naked eye easily. In this case Zari Taar has been used to cut Jaali on full Zari Silk saree, making it the toughest level. This obviously commands time and best wages for the artisans involved.
Words will fall short in the praise of this exquisite beauty of a saree!! Some of these motifs are centuries old, and some freshly carved looking at centuries old motifs. A rare piece of Art. The unique Red Gold colour of the saree with Red embroidery makes it stunning, regal and a timeless heirloom that you would like to pass on generation after generation. The drape of this saree is breathtaking; rich and very form fitting and supple, making it ideal for all body types. We will also provide a 1 metre running Chikankari embroidered Tussar Silk blouse piece in Red colour as part of the saree. The Paisley & Paan are two iconic imageries of Lucknow & Chikankari, and we have brought both together in this conceptual work, making it one of a kind artwork to be revered forever. Kamal Sarovar was born out of a dream to create a river full of blooming lotuses. Only a complete jaal saree could do proper justice to the thought. We wanted the base of the saree to have a soft pearly glow to represent a water body glistening in the morning sunlight, when the Lotuses have started blooming for the day. Our handwoven Chanderi fabric was the best option. A contrast pastel colour is used to create blossoming Lotuses all through the saree. This saree is a work of wearable art & a visually aesthetic masterpiece!! Khayal (Moodboard): Note from the Founder "Daughters are like the Sonchiraiya of a home. Isn’t that true?! The Golden Bird that keeps twittering at every nook and corner since childhood. Whose presence lights up the face; and who one day, becomes the elusive Golden Bird - Sonchiraiya. One that is the most beautiful and prized and yet rare to be seen. This is what a daughter and her marriage means. I designed the Sonchiraiya saree for our niece’s wedding keeping this thought in mind. Having gone through this phase too, I wanted to dedicate one saree to the daughter of the house. The mood board comes from our design range - Birds of Paradise - launched on IG this March/April that features many birds of Nawabgunj Bird Sanctuary. While the posse of those birds is huge, I just plucked out the Gauraiya or Sparrow from the the bouquet, as that is what daughters are, to my mind, sweet sparrows blooming in the home, who later metamorphose into the Golden Bird or Sonchiraiya. The grand saree is designed with dense Resham Chikankari, with Sonchiraiya sitting in Zardozi craft, in a twittering and prancing pattern (how daughters are and sparrows are). The saree is detailed with Kasab Taar on the borders and is finished with the finest Zardozi elements of micro sequins and rainbow beads, that are of the most premium kind. The grand saree is hand dyed in Damask Rose shade, to match the blush of a daughter’s face as she becomes a bride." Vidhi Rastogi, Founder, Meiraas. Poshaak (about the saree):  This is a saree fit for a Vault Collective. Palla and Body till 2.5 metres : The Pure Georgette Silk saree has almost 2.5 metres of heavy Chikankari work done in Resham with masterclass shadow work. The embroidery is done with Golden Cream shade on Pink base, and creates illusion of a different colour as the thread colour lends its own shade to the Pink shade. Gauraiya motif is interspersed in between the geometric shadow design to show a bird flying in and out. These are hand embroidered in very fine Zardozi craft, with Qasab Taar Aari outline for each bird. Each bird has Chikankari stitches, along with very fine Zardozi embroidery with micro sequins and rainbow glass beads. These beads though very tiny to the naked eye, catch and reflect colour beautifully, while leaving the onlooker bewildered as to where the glow is emanating from. Each Golden Bird stands out richly on the palla and body, till 2.5 metres Body : The saree has very beautiful antique borders of Chikankari, where at places a Qasab Taar (zari coated filament) has been intertwined with Resham Taar to do embroidery and at places they have been embroidered separately on same motif in a definite pattern. This is to give rich attention to detailing in every nook and corner of the saree. Rest of the body has floral bootis scattered all over. Micro Sequins are tucked in all over the saree, that give the saree a subtle, graceful glow. This saree is a Rare, Conceptual piece of Art, and meant for Collectors of the Craft. Blouse: Pure Crepe Blouse with micro sequins embroidered all over This saree does not need very heavy jewellery, as it is a jewel in itself. Just some well chosen diamonds will complete the look. A dream, an oasis, one of the most ethereal Heirloom Chikankari sarees we have made! This signature saree of Meiraas is Made on Order only. Please email us at [email protected] for colour and fabric customisation. This saree is Made On Order only and will take at least 4 months to get made. We will obviously try faster turn around, however if required this timeline can be 1-2 weeks extended too; after all such pieces are rarest of rare & require full attention to detail. Please keep your event date in mind before placing the order. FROM THE VAULT COLLECTIVE Mihikavan is Heirloom Chikankari 2 Taar Pure Georgette Saree in Almond Beige hue with full jaal floral embroidery. The Palla has breathtaking latticework stitch in rare & old Paisley motif. A rare Heirloom Piece!! KHAYAL (moodboard): Kamadeva (God of Desire) and Basant (Spring) decide to break the tapa of Kaamajeyi Mahadev, and get him attracted to the beauty of Parvati ji. To set this scene of romance, they paint a rugged forest, where the tapa is going on, into a place of beautiful desire, an enchanted forest garden. In an instant, Basant transforms the rugged terrain into a Floral Paradise; his painting is so beautiful that all beings are turned on to create a valley of love, the culmination of this beauty happens when a dormant tree trunk starts sprouting flowers, & a Latika or Creeper of Flowers engulfs the trunk with her grip of love!! Kalidasa ji paints so beautifully with words, almost as beautifully as our artisans create art with needle and thread.  Mihikavan means Mihika (dewdrops) of Vana (Forest garden). When I see the art on this saree, I think of the first rays of sun touching the Mihika and the whole enchanted forest garden of Kumaarsambhav penned by Kalidasa ji come alive. We hope you enjoy this Khayal - Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Creative, Meiraas POSHAAK (about the saree): Mihikavan Heirloom Chikankari, made on Pure Georgette Silk (certified Silk Mark India). The saree is embroidered all over with the Palla having antique Paisley motif replete with Latticework Stitch (jaali) with qasab taar detailing. The full saree is embroidered with very inticate floral motif. Stitches like shadow, ghaspatti, orma, jaali, zanjeera, hool make this stunning saree. Mukaish stars create the much needed Mihika in this Garden created with needles and thread. The embroidery is done with 2 Taar Resham Thread and is extremely rare. Please note that the actual colour of this saree is light almond or beige. The darker colours that you see in some photographs is lighting effect. The Cover pic and 3rd last image are shot against a backlight to show you the neatness of the work. This saree will come out most beautifully on Pure Georgette only.   1. Since this is a Made on Order saree, the patron can customise their desired shade. For this drop in an email on [email protected] . Once the colour is selected by the patron, and we start the work, no change can be made.
  2. This is very heavily embroidered saree, therefore mostly the length one gets in such sarees is 41-42 inches only. If you want wider saree, then an extra Pure Georgette fabric will be added on top seamlessly.
  3. There is No Return/Refund/Cancellation on Made on Order pieces.
