Please choose your size, and we will prepare the same accordingly.  Jambumani or the Rich Amethyst Purple, is a stunning Resham Chikankari kurta made on handwoven Eri Silk fabric, for possibly the very first time! A true connoiseur’s delight! Please note that Eri or Ahimsa Silk is one of the most premium fabrics of the World. Produced in weaving clusters of Assam, this silk is handspun & handwoven. It is also known as Wild Silk, as it is not obtained from farmed silkworms. This Silk is called Ahimsa or Peace Silk, because the silk extraction process here, allows the silkworms to leave their cocoon. Only after that, silk is extracted, making this a Cruelty Free Yarn.  Eri Silk is thermostatic in nature, making it all weather compatible. It improves with age & use, making it one of the most sustainable & sought after fabrics. Meiraas has gone one step further & brought alive the art of fine Chikankari on it! A Kurta meant for the Collectors of fine handcrafted textiles. The Sustainability Quotient (TSQ):

KHAYAL (mood-board): Jambumani is the Sanskrit name for Rich Purple Amethyst. Since time immemorial, considered a plush hue for the royals, Jambumani exudes a calming, yet rich aura. An essence also unique to the Chikankari Craft. POSHAAK (about the dress): Jambumani Resham Chikankari Eri Silk Kurta has a beautiful floral motif with many rare stitches of Chikankari, displayed in a very delicate and old world pattern. The kurta embroidery has stitches like Qasab Taar Jaali (very difficult to do on Eri Silk due to fabric density), Ghaspatti, Shadow, Orma, Murri, Phanda, etc. amongst other stitches of the Craft. The elegant motif is falling from one shoulder in a beautiful artistic pattern. Miniature motifs of Cherry and Ambi add the delicate touch all over the kurta, alongside the primary motif. The sleeves have the same miniature motif, along with ghaspatti bel detailing. The back has the primary floral motif as the statement back. The kurta is dyed to a plush, rich purple shade. A dream, an oasis, one of the most ethereal Heirloom Chikankari sarees we have made! This signature saree of Meiraas is Made on Order only. We will obviously try faster turn around, however if required this timeline can be 1-2 weeks extended too; after all such pieces are rarest of rare & require full attention to detail. Please keep your event date in mind before placing the order. FROM THE VAULT COLLECTIVE Mihikavan is Heirloom Chikankari 2 Taar Pure Georgette Saree in Almond Beige hue with full jaal floral embroidery. The Palla has breathtaking latticework stitch in rare & old Paisley motif. A rare Heirloom Piece!! KHAYAL (moodboard): Kamadeva (God of Desire) and Basant (Spring) decide to break the tapa of Kaamajeyi Mahadev, and get him attracted to the beauty of Parvati ji. To set this scene of romance, they paint a rugged forest, where the tapa is going on, into a place of beautiful desire, an enchanted forest garden. In an instant, Basant transforms the rugged terrain into a Floral Paradise; his painting is so beautiful that all beings are turned on to create a valley of love, the culmination of this beauty happens when a dormant tree trunk starts sprouting flowers, & a Latika or Creeper of Flowers engulfs the trunk with her grip of love!! Kalidasa ji paints so beautifully with words, almost as beautifully as our artisans create art with needle and thread.  Mihikavan means Mihika (dewdrops) of Vana (Forest garden). When I see the art on this saree, I think of the first rays of sun touching the Mihika and the whole enchanted forest garden of Kumaarsambhav penned by Kalidasa ji come alive. We hope you enjoy this Khayal - Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Creative, Meiraas POSHAAK (about the saree): Mihikavan Heirloom Chikankari, made on Pure Georgette Silk (certified Silk Mark India). The saree is embroidered all over with the Palla having antique Paisley motif replete with Latticework Stitch (jaali) with qasab taar detailing. The full saree is embroidered with very inticate floral motif. Stitches like shadow, ghaspatti, orma, jaali, zanjeera, hool make this stunning saree. Mukaish stars create the much needed Mihika in this Garden created with needles and thread. The embroidery is done with 2 Taar Resham Thread and is extremely rare. Please note that the actual colour of this saree is light almond or beige. The darker colours that you see in some photographs is lighting effect. The Cover pic and 3rd last image are shot against a backlight to show you the neatness of the work. This saree will come out most beautifully on Pure Georgette only. KHAYAL: Moodboard "When you think of Chikankari, you invariably think of the Classic white on White. There is an ethereal charm of tone on tone Chikankari, that seems like a whisper of the soul whose hands embellished the fine fabric. They carry the joy, the tears, the stories, the candour that the artisans share, while the needles bring alive each Flower, Knot, Trellis; but how much more beautiful would it be, if this whisper was instead on Gold. It would be probably reminiscent of the Jama, that the Royals of yore used to wear, something that is today exclusively housed in very prestigious Textiles museums of the World. For me, as a designer and a connoisseur, it is heart wrenching to see beautiful embroidery housed in a Museum, to be gawped at, but designated to a fate where it shall never be part of someone else’s story. Shahi Paan Kurta is our endeavour from The Art and Antiquities Project of Meiraas, for which we travel through museums, seek crafts in Temples and study Historical archived images, so that the Queens in us can make these designs a part of our unique story again." - Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Creative, Meiraas.
