Khayal (Moodboard): Note from the Founder "Daughters are like the Sonchiraiya of a home. Isn’t that true?! The Golden Bird that keeps twittering at every nook and corner since childhood. Whose presence lights up the face; and who one day, becomes the elusive Golden Bird - Sonchiraiya. One that is the most beautiful and prized and yet rare to be seen. This is what a daughter and her marriage means. I designed the Sonchiraiya saree for our niece’s wedding keeping this thought in mind. Having gone through this phase too, I wanted to dedicate one saree to the daughter of the house. The mood board comes from our design range - Birds of Paradise - launched on IG this March/April that features many birds of Nawabgunj Bird Sanctuary. While the posse of those birds is huge, I just plucked out the Gauraiya or Sparrow from the the bouquet, as that is what daughters are, to my mind, sweet sparrows blooming in the home, who later metamorphose into the Golden Bird or Sonchiraiya. The grand saree is designed with dense Resham Chikankari, with Sonchiraiya sitting in Zardozi craft, in a twittering and prancing pattern (how daughters are and sparrows are). The saree is detailed with Kasab Taar on the borders and is finished with the finest Zardozi elements of micro sequins and rainbow beads, that are of the most premium kind. The grand saree is hand dyed in Damask Rose shade, to match the blush of a daughter’s face as she becomes a bride." Vidhi Rastogi, Founder, Meiraas. Poshaak (about the saree): This is a saree fit for a Vault Collective. Palla and Body till 2.5 metres : The Pure Georgette Silk saree has almost 2.5 metres of heavy Chikankari work done in Resham with masterclass shadow work. The embroidery is done with Golden Cream shade on Pink base, and creates illusion of a different colour as the thread colour lends its own shade to the Pink shade. Gauraiya motif is interspersed in between the geometric shadow design to show a bird flying in and out. These are hand embroidered in very fine Zardozi craft, with Qasab Taar Aari outline for each bird. Each bird has Chikankari stitches, along with very fine Zardozi embroidery with micro sequins and rainbow glass beads. These beads though very tiny to the naked eye, catch and reflect colour beautifully, while leaving the onlooker bewildered as to where the glow is emanating from. Each Golden Bird stands out richly on the palla and body, till 2.5 metres Body : The saree has very beautiful antique borders of Chikankari, where at places a Qasab Taar (zari coated filament) has been intertwined with Resham Taar to do embroidery and at places they have been embroidered separately on same motif in a definite pattern. This is to give rich attention to detailing in every nook and corner of the saree. Rest of the body has floral bootis scattered all over. Micro Sequins are tucked in all over the saree, that give the saree a subtle, graceful glow. This saree is a Rare, Conceptual piece of Art, and meant for Collectors of the Craft. Blouse: Pure Crepe Blouse with micro sequins embroidered all over This saree does not need very heavy jewellery, as it is a jewel in itself. Just some well chosen diamonds will complete the look. FROM THE VAULT COLLECTIVE Mihikavan is Heirloom Chikankari 2 Taar Pure Georgette Saree in Almond Beige hue with full jaal floral embroidery. The Palla has breathtaking latticework stitch in rare & old Paisley motif. A rare Heirloom Piece!! KHAYAL (moodboard): Kamadeva (God of Desire) and Basant (Spring) decide to break the tapa of Kaamajeyi Mahadev, and get him attracted to the beauty of Parvati ji. To set this scene of romance, they paint a rugged forest, where the tapa is going on, into a place of beautiful desire, an enchanted forest garden. In an instant, Basant transforms the rugged terrain into a Floral Paradise; his painting is so beautiful that all beings are turned on to create a valley of love, the culmination of this beauty happens when a dormant tree trunk starts sprouting flowers, & a Latika or Creeper of Flowers engulfs the trunk with her grip of love!! Kalidasa ji paints so beautifully with words, almost as beautifully as our artisans create art with needle and thread. Mihikavan means Mihika (dewdrops) of Vana (Forest garden). When I see the art on this saree, I think of the first rays of sun touching the Mihika and the whole enchanted forest garden of Kumaarsambhav penned by Kalidasa ji come alive. We hope you enjoy this Khayal - Vidhi Rastogi, Head of Creative, Meiraas POSHAAK (about the saree): Mihikavan Heirloom Chikankari, made on Pure Georgette Silk (certified Silk Mark India). The saree is embroidered all over with the Palla having antique Paisley motif replete with Latticework Stitch (jaali) with qasab taar detailing. The full saree is embroidered with very inticate floral motif. Stitches like shadow, ghaspatti, orma, jaali, zanjeera, hool make this stunning saree. Mukaish stars create the much needed Mihika in this Garden created with needles and thread. The embroidery is done with 2 Taar Resham Thread and is extremely rare. Please note that the actual colour of this saree is light almond or beige. The darker colours that you see in some photographs is lighting effect. The Cover pic and 3rd last image are shot against a backlight to show you the neatness of the work. This saree will come out most beautifully on Pure Georgette only. Since this is a Made on Order saree, the patron can customise their desired shade. For this drop in an email on namaste@meiraas.com . Once the colour is selected by the patron, and we start the work, no change can be made.
This is very heavily embroidered saree, therefore mostly the length one gets in such sarees is 41-42 inches only. If you want wider saree, then an extra Pure Georgette fabric will be added on top seamlessly.

Our lands are blessed with a variety of natural minerals and gemstones that have immense energy stored within them. Formed under the envelope of Bhoodevi's (Earth) womb, they radiate and reflect back her energy and lend them to the wearer. Our Chanderi sarees, adorned with heirloom quality Chikankari, are named after these soft and deeply spiritual stones. Pukhraaj or Yellow Sapphire is a brilliant yellow coloured clear looking mineral stone. POSHAAK (about the saree): This bright Yellow luminous expanse of handwoven Chanderi saree is embroidered with some of the most antique motifs; some old, some recreated based on archived old motifs. The saree palla has very antique bel boota on palla & border, made with fine and prized Murri stitch, a rare work of art. It further has a Grand Paisley Guldaan Boota with finest of Murri & Ghaspatti embroidery. Amongst the revered and rare Chikankari stitches, Murri takes precedence as it is very painstaking to create. It has to mimic a Biryani Chawal like fineness and beauty, which is extremely difficult to achieve, especially so in Resham thread. The small floral booti in the palla & body of this saree is 200 plus years old. It is a Murri ki Kairi, a miniature fine art motif, that is made almost completely with fine Murri, making this saree an outstanding piece of Murri artwork The saree is lit up with diyas of Mukaish embroidery placed beautifully amidst the fine thread art. The saree palla has very antique bel boota on palla & border, which is centuries old and is a rarely seen design. This fine quality motif has extremely complex work in such a small surface. It further has our Shahi Paan boota, which has been commissioned by Meiraas, basis an archived rare motif. The Shahi Paan boota is on either ends of the Palla, and has our conceptual work where we have filled tiny mango or Paisley motifs inside the Paan motif. The Paisley & Paan are two iconic imageries of Lucknow & Chikankari, and we have brought both together in this conceptual work, making it one of a kind artwork to be revered forever. The small floral booti in the palla & body of this saree is 200 plus years old. It has some extremely complex stitches in this small a surface area - Zari taar ki Jaali, Hool & Murri. One of a kind masterpiece!! There is an additional keel boota that runs in the body of the saree, along with complex floral booti. The saree is lit up with diyas of Mukaish embroidery placed beautifully amidst the fine thread art. Saree is finished with a Satin Silk selvedge in Rani Pink and we will also provide a 1 metre approx blouse piece in same fabric and same colour. Khayal (Moodboard): "Chandani ke boote aur Dhoop ki Kaliyan" - The flowers carved by Moonlight, & the Buds that bloom under mellow sunshine. This is a title in Lucknow's cultural historian, Padma Shri Late Dr Yogesh Praveen ji's book, Aapka Lucknow. The chapter is dedicated particularly to Crafts of Awadh - Zardozi, Mukaish & Chikankari, of which "Dhoop ki Kaliyan" is especially kept for the latter craft. Chikankari is in fact one of those rarest of rare embroideries, that looks as though crafted out of mellow Sunshine. This saree and its very fine embroidery looks every inch as the delicate flower buds that are ready to bloom in soft glow of the Sun. Khayal (Moodboard): The month of Chaitra (roughly March mid to April mid), is one with Pink summers setting in, where the air is still free of the upcoming scorching heat, and the coolness of the winter months gone by, make the mornings and evenings very pleasant. It is a month, where the Earth, especially in Northern plains of India, springs the most beautiful blossoms all around. The most prominent amongst them are tall Kaner bushes, with stunning Pink blossoms all over them, weighing the delicate boughs down in their sweet ambrosia. These Kaner flowers are also known as Chaitra Gulaab, as their appearance is similar to roses, and colour is a stunning Pink. When reflected against a cornflower blue sky, and with other blossoms filling up all garden spaces, they make a meadow in any city, town or village. In Lucknow, they are a common sight, and one that fills the heart with joy. Coupled with these are the tiny mangoes on tree boughs, that promise to soon grow into large vats of heavenly nectar. Together, they make Chaitra Upvan an oasis to cherish. This is the Khayal that defines this saree the best. Poshaak (about the saree): This is a saree fit for a Vault Collective. The saree reflects light back, making it impossible to work in full light, hence it needs perfect light setting in a room and extremely skilled artisans to make it.
Such fabric requires enormous dexterity and a very fine level of craftsmanship, therefore the number of artisans working on it are just 1-2 only. This means it takes more time than other sarees
Zari Taar Jaali work is extremely difficult to do on this saree; Cutting jaali by hand is a difficult and time consuming process as it is (this is why its artisans are reducing, as they demand better wages for the time and skill, which popular market is unwilling to pay). Cutting a jaali using Zari Taar filament is the toughest level, as the Zari Taar is not visible to the naked eye easily. In this case Zari Taar has been used to cut Jaali on full Zari Silk saree, making it the toughest level. This obviously commands time and best wages for the artisans involved.

Words will fall short in the praise of this exquisite beauty of a saree!! Some of these motifs are centuries old, and some freshly carved looking at centuries old motifs. A rare piece of Art. The unique Red Gold colour of the saree with Red embroidery makes it stunning, regal and a timeless heirloom that you would like to pass on generation after generation. The drape of this saree is breathtaking; rich and very form fitting and supple, making it ideal for all body types. We will also provide a 1 metre running Chikankari embroidered Tussar Silk blouse piece in Red colour as part of the saree. P.S: If you are noticing dark patches anywhere in the pictures, then that is the Zari reflecting the light back to the camera, and this is not present on the saree. Avoid moisture seeping into such sarees. Always store them in a dry place and in the Meiraas bag we deliver them in. Keep opening Silk Sarees in every 6 months and changing its folds. Rest of the motif is done using Shadow, Ghaspatti, Chanapatti, Keel, Phanda etc. The saree has a detailed border running all through the saree, and the signature motif rests on the palla, as well as one of them also rests on the shoulder, like a brooch. The saree is filled with little Bela blossoms in white. Stars of Mukaish add to the deeply beautiful charm of this saree. It is an unconventional colour for festive and wedding season, and yet one that will stand out gracefully, with a stately charm. Saree is further finished with Kingri gota lace in silver, and we will also provide a 1 metre approx. running blouse piece.

KHAYAAL (moodboard): The Khayal or Aatmamanthan behind keeping this collection under the name Dhanlakshmi was very clear. We wanted to make a repository of Heirloom Sarees, where we can create colours & palettes that signify the opulence of Sri Lakshmi. Krishna Lakshmi, signifies the dark night of Amavasya (Krishna Paksha), when the radiance of Sri Lakshmi, visits deserving households, to bring them prosperity and wholesome progress. KrishnaLakshami is a stunning Black Gold Zari Silk Chikankari saree, with Black Resham embroidery, a piece de resistance, and one that creates new Heirlooms and Textile Traditions. POSHAAK (about the saree): The stunning KrishnaLakshami, is embroidered with extremely delicate and prized stitches of Conceptual Chikankari Art work. The palla has a jaw dropping Rhombus motif with most delicate and intricate workmanship ever seen. It is one of a kind motif with 3 D quality artwork done by our unit artisans. Absolutely fine Zari Taar Jaali decorates this motif, which required an exceptionally high skill to make. The Zari Silk saree is embroidered in semi darkness, as it reflects back light; when this is a Black Gold hue, it becomes even more challenging, and here if we add Zari Taar for Jaali stitch, you can gauge the level of craftsmanship and artwork we are talking about. Absolutely precise trellis of Jaali cut with perfect guesstimate; this is the magic Indian artisans have in their hands. Words will fall short in the praise of this exquisite beauty of a saree!! The body has absolutely fine small flowers made with tiniest Ghaspatti stitch. The bel running on Palla & Border is an exquisite example of fine miniature workmanship of the past. Some of these motifs are centuries old, and some freshly carved looking at centuries old motifs. A rare piece of Art. The unique Black Gold colour of the saree with Black embroidery makes it stunning, regal & timeless heirloom that you would like to pass on generation after generation. Saree is further finished with Pure Handwoven Mulberry Silk selvedge in Black, and a 1 metre running Chikankari embroidered blouse piece in Black Gold is also part of the saree. P.S: If you are noticing dark patches anywhere in the pictures, then that is the Zari reflecting the light back to the camera, and this is not present on the saree. Avoid moisture seeping into such sarees. Always store them in a dry place and in the Meiraas bag we deliver them in. Keep opening Silk Sarees in every 6 months & changing its folds.

After successfully venturing into Gold, Silver hues, and Pearl, Firoza, Precious stones like Tourmaline, Agate hues, we wanted to include Gemstone shades. Our lands are blessed with a variety of natural minerals and gemstones that have immense energy stored within them. Formed under the envelope of Bhoodevi's (Earth) womb, they radiate and reflect back her energy and lend them to the wearer. Our Chanderi sarees, adorned with heirloom quality Chikankari, are named after these soft and deeply spiritual stones. Jambumani or Amethsyt is a beautiful Lilac hued clear looking gemstone. This beautiful Lilac rich Chikankari Tussar Silk saree with antique quality embroidery, is the perfect connect to that emotion with us, that resonates with carrying forward a revered Textile Tradition. POSHAAK (about the saree): Jambumani or Amethyst saree is a lilac coloured Tussar Silk beauty, embroidered with extremely delicate and prized stitches of Conceptual Chikankari Art work. The palla has our Bijli boota motif put together like a Rangoli or Alpana. Bijli boota is our motif commissioned on an archived centuries old art work. The motif has Zari taar ki jaali amongst other prized stitches. A small Bijli boota accompanies the larger one all through the palla & body of the saree. The border & palla of the saree have an antique 100 year old plus bel boota running all through the saree, that has extremely prized Zari taar jaali & murri stitches!! A masterclass border. But the highlight of this masterpiece is the Bel Boota falling down from the shoulder; delicate and anointed with some of the rarest stitches, this boota is like the rice paste alpana we make outside our homes. The embroidery is done with darker lilac shade, making it stand out, and stars of Mukaish are embroidered lovingly with the embroidery to resemble lit diyas on Deepawali. Saree is further finished with Pure Handwoven Mulberry Silk selvedge in beautiful Berry Pink, providing just the right contrast, and we will also provide a 1 metre approx blouse piece in same fabric and same colour.

KHAYAAL (moodboard): Kamal Sarovar Grande is a customised saree of the original Kamal Sarovar saree we had made in 2020 that can be seen here The creation of this saree was magnificent. Kamal Sarovar was born out of a dream to create a river full of blooming lotuses. Only a complete jaal saree could do proper justice to the thought. We wanted the base of the saree to have a soft pearly glow to represent a water body glistening in the morning sunlight, when the Lotuses have started blooming for the day. Our handwoven Chanderi fabric was the best option. A contrast pastel colour is used to create blossoming Lotuses all through the saree. This saree is a work of wearable art & a visually aesthetic masterpiece!! POSHAAK (about the saree): The expanse of Grey Chanderi Handloom saree plays with delicate Pink Kamal Sarovar embroidery in Resham Chikankari, all over the body. Each flower & leaf in the embroidery comes alive with glistening Mukaish stars that add mystical allure to this beautiful combination. The saree is finished with handmade Pure Silk selvage in the reverse side in the colour of embroidery, & trimmed with Crochet lace detailing in the colour of the embroidery.
