These rippling waves or “leher” has given birth to the imagination of “leheriya” tie & dye art on Rajasthani clothes. They became a raging fashion statement, after being donned in an effortlessly stylish manner by many of our Bollywood female actors (remember Waheeda Rehman in Lamhe, or Rekha in Silsila, sizzling in fine Chiffon Leheriya sarees, looking every bit the diva, with such minimal effort).

While conceptualizing “Desert Rose”, we wanted to retain the fluidity & luster of classic Leheriya saree, but on a sustainable fabric; and that is when Rajasthan came to our rescue yet again, in the form of Kota Silk fabric. The lovely, rustly, airy, soft gossamer folds of Kota Silk seemed perfect for Leheriya waves.

“Desert Rose” is our ode to Rajasthan; to the classic divas of old Hindi films; to the vibrant colour palette of India!!! We hope you love each piece, as much as we enjoyed creating them.
